Oral History Interview

Jesse Stewart is a talented artiste and songwriter from Cunupia, Trinidad and Tobago.

In 2020, Jesse secured the Groovy Soca Monarch title with his composition “Happy Song”, for his debut participation in the International Soca Monarch Competition, a notable accolade within the Soca music sphere.

In this interview, Jesse discusses the impact of the pandemic on his career as a Soca artist and songwriter. He highlights that the pandemic severely affected the entertainment industry, especially live performances, which were a significant source of income. To adapt, artists like him turned to virtual methods for entertaining audiences.
